7 Holy Week Reflections to Inspire You

by Rhea Vitto Tabora

What does Holy Week mean to you?

This season is regarded by many as the long-awaited break from work or school. Many take the opportunity to go for holiday or spend the days on the beach. Several others observe many religious activities and traditions. Some are making charitable acts.

I am sharing my small contribution to the observance of the Lenten season. Here are some Holy Week reflections. May they inspire you as they have inspired me.

1. Life is a precious gift, but we realize this only when we give it to others. – Pope Francis
2. The more sunshine you bring into the world, the more the dark clouds go away. – Unknown
3. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. – Philippians 4:13
4. When you can’t put your prayers into words, God hears your heart – Unknown
5. God loves you and He has not forgotten you. You have a reason to smile. – Unknown
6. God will meet you where you are. – Bo Sanchez
7. Palm Sunday is a good reminder of how fast our hearts can move from “Crown Him!” to “Kill him!” when we don’t get our way. – Sammy Rhodes

What to Benefit from Bo Sanchez’s Truly Rich Club (How to pursue financial freedom, live your dream, and help others)

by Rhea Vitto Tabora

If you can transform your financial status and gain spiritual wealth at the same time, will you be ready to embrace the ways to achieve them?

Bo Sanchez used to live a poor missionary life for two decades. During that period, he viewed being poor an acceptable status since he was still single and didn’t have to worry about supporting a family. He was happily fulfilling works of ministry with and among the poor, preaching and writing.

In the past, he embraced a different principle. He thought that in order for him to love and understand the poor, he had to become poor himself. Having a subconscious belief that money was evil, he used to think that in order to be close to God, he had to be poor as well.

Everything changed more than a decade ago. He shifted the gear and twisted his personal beliefs.

Will you be inspired?

Bo Sanchez is now a picture of a truly rich missionary. He is now an entrepreneur with 16 income streams. He is busy running businesses, investing in estate properties, stocks, and other paper assets.

On top of all this, he is still actively doing his mission and working among the poor. It was a great, positive change. He now has the means to lift the poor people out of poverty. He has made an enormous impact on so many people’s lives.

Yet he remains a simple man. Despite the wealth that he now enjoys, he doesn’t own a mansion or drive around in a luxury vehicle.

“Oh yes, I can now afford to buy them. But as a personal choice, I’ve decided to remain simple in my lifestyle. Why? Not because it’s wrong to own them. I repeat: it’s a personal choice. But I believe that the ultimate purpose of wealth is to love others. And I’ve made a choice to use a lot of my wealth to make this world a better place.”

If given the opportunity, will you grab it?

Bo’s passive income is greater than his expenses, so he has the money to support his ministerial work and give to the poor. And it’s not just financial assistance; he is also helping people grow financially. Interestingly, would you believe he also taught his helpers and driver to invest in the stock market? Hey, if they can prepare for their retirement, why can’t we?

Isn’t it awesome to have financial freedom and use your wealth to make a difference in this world? Are you ready to experience the same?

As an online marketing entrepreneur, I came across Bo Sanchez’s Truly Rich Club and didn’t let this opportunity to slip through my fingers.

The key is to change your mindset, according to Bo. Don’t just accept the fact that this is the best thing you can do, or the best that you can have. Bury the poverty and scarcity mindset. You can do something to overcome it. Nourish wealth mindset instead.

“After years of helping people grow financially, I realized it’s more important to change financial mindsets than just merely increasing financial literacy. Why? Because a person can be very wise in money matters, but if he has a poverty mindset, nothing much will happen.”

And I’ve also learned how to change mindsets: through the simple act of repetition. Because repetition is the mother of all skill. By constantly immersing one’s mind with a new way of thinking, a new mindset is formed.

This led to the creation of Truly Rich Club Gold Membership, a private group of individuals who are determined about gaining wealth abundance to improve their lives and help others. Why Carry Excess Baggage?

by Rhea Vitto Tabora

I don’t mean airport luggage. That one is a lot easier to solve – just pay the fee. No brainer. Done.

How about life’s baggage?

For the second time, I’m quoting my parish priest in my blog. I had several experiences in the past when I almost fell asleep or yawned a hundred times while listening to a priest’s homily. These days, I quite appreciate the style and contents of the priest’s sermon. His message in yesterday’s mass was to “leave the excess baggage behind.” Drop them. Be free. Because you’ll learn to love better if you are free.

He went on saying that in today’s world, we slave ourselves with gadgets and telenovelas. We always get ourselves buried under a mountain of things. We always worry. And we have forgotten to love better.

As someone who is passionate about traveling and enjoys this journey called life, here are my thoughts on this topic. Feel free to share your comments below :)

1. Hand luggage is enough. Know what to pack; don’t bring too much – this is the key to a more enjoyable trip. The same goes with our life journey. Don’t fuss with too much baggage in your life. And when you pack, check twice if those are the items you really need for your journey. Trust your gut and decide wisely – you might need to replace one thing with another.

2. Be at peace with the world. Don’t carry its weight on your shoulders. Instead of moaning and complaining, do something. I had my share of suitcases bulging with too many questions when I was a student activist – questioning social injustices, human rights violations, political and economic issues, environmental concerns, etc. I still do until now. But instead of chanting in the streets, I now do my own little way to help lighten the dark side of this world.

3. Learn to unpack. Throw away and leave behind things that you don’t need anymore – painful past relationships (not necessarily with a partner), old wounds, stressful work, dark past, and whatever is holding you back. Just keep with you the lessons that you learned from them. Don’t get stuck in the past, or worse, go backward.

4. Free yourself from the baggage packed by others. You get hurt. You feel pain. You fear. You were disappointed. Fine. Deal with it. Get over it. Move on. Don’t drag your suitcases around with many unresolved issues.

5. Free your mind from the things that slow you down. Let go. Don’t stress yourself over little things.

Then smile, for you now have space for the more valuable things in life. Now that you have achieved that, be mindful with what you put on that bag. Fill your luggage only with the good, positive things in life – happy relationships, kind gestures, good health, beautiful memories, financial freedom to help those in need. Spread some love and kindness in this world. Enjoy your journey.

Keep in mind the same things for the next leg of your journey if you want it to be more enjoyable, more meaningful, more fulfilling. Life is a beautiful journey. Don’t torture yourself.

If in the end you still want to carry excess baggage, be ready to pay the price. Excess baggage fee always applies.

5 Best Things Our Dog Taught Us about Life

by Rhea Vitto Tabora

Don't you agree that it’s awesome to have a pet, yet it’s tough to decide getting one because of the huge responsibility and commitment it entails?

I have witnessed how my mom and my siblings (well, my mom especially) spend hours every single day preparing food and looking after the two Shih Tzu and one Golden Retriever at home. Taking care of them and cleaning their mess seemed like a full-time job. It is eating up a lot of my mom’s time and energy. It is exhausting.

My 6-year old son TJ had been wooing us for weeks to get our own dog. Is having one really worth all the time and effort? I mean, my siblings and I had one lovely dog when we were children, and that was a beautiful experience. Now that we are busier adults, can we afford to have a dog at home?

After several trips to many pet shops and choosing over several dog breeds, we finally brought home a black Labrador puppy one cold December night.

It was like having a new family member. We didn’t quite know what to do during the first night. Where would he sleep? Oh, I have an old baby blanket, he could make use of that.

The next morning, we knew our life would change in many ways. It was almost like having a new baby, minus the birthing process.

But more than anything else, here are the five best things we realized and learned to love again having Doodie around, our puppy Lab.

1. Go out, walk, run, jump, play several times a day.
Bask in the sun and bond with nature. Enjoy life. Move your body. Loosen up. Go all out and chase that ball. Give yourself a break. Life’s a lot more fun outside.

2. Love, loyalty, and attachment are three great things to experience every single day.

Dogs are known for their unconditional love. You come home late, exhausted from a terrible traffic, and your dog will shower you with wet kisses while wagging his tail. And he does this even though you just shouted at him for biting your slippers, again! Spending fun and lazy moments with Doodie sparked the relationship which we now enjoy. Dogs are loyal creatures. Imagine if all the people on this planet are loyal and dependable.

3. Take care and look after others.
Animals make people more human. That’s what animal lovers say. And that dogs are men’s best friend. To some, this is an arguable statement. But to dog lovers, it is a meaningful declaration. If we can only truly care for one another, then this earth will be a more beautiful place to live in.

4. It’s awesome to feel valued every moment of your life.
Dogs are awesome and they value being with you so much. See the excitement in their eyes and the never-ending wagging of the tail when you walk in the door, like it was the most exciting moment of their lives? Shouldn’t we feel the same way, treasuring every moment we spend with our loved ones, cherishing every step we make in our journey in this world?

5. Remain simple.
Dogs just love simple things. Give them a braided old cloth and they would happily play with it until all threads disentangle. Appreciate the little things in life. We can dream big and aim high, but we can remain simple during the journey.

Doodie has reminded us of many good life lessons. All awesome!

Feel free to share what you have learned from your friend dog in the comments below.
